True Crime: Streets of LA

The ultimate question that we have all been asking ourselfs. Will True Crime: Streets of LA beat the almighty GTA Vice City? Well, we said that The Getaway would and we were truly wrong. Anyway, forgeting that, the answer to the almighty question is yes. And no. Its about the same. Both games are very identical in everyway. Both have swearing, nudity, hookers, loads and loads of violence and fast cars to run down innocent pedestrians as they persue their everyday life. Quite sad really. No, not the game, the ordinary people. Der! There are only really two differences between the two games. One that True Crime is set in a real city, LA, of course, and two, GTA lets you pick when you want to play each mission as with True Crime lets you do a series of missions and then lets you explore the city for a while before attemting the next few missions.

You play Kang, a police officer who has been playing Mr. Evil lately. He has been suspended from his job to try and find his right way back on track. Now, you can either be good cop or bad cop. I wonder what one you are going to pick. You get points for everytime you do something right, like killing a burgular or stopping a bar fight. But you will lose a point for everytime you do something wrong and if you lose too many points, the police will eventually come after you.
Bar fights can be very amusing as you can break and put somebody through nearly everything you see including tables, chairs, doors, pinball machines, the counter and many other things that you'll find in a bar.

True Crime:SOLA also contains various rap artists such as Snoop Dog, Nerd and Ice Cube (who these people are we don't know!) which play music on the radio in your car, in buildings and sometimes outside a nightclub or concert hall. Also, other people can be used as human shields with a knife at their throat or a gun at their head to help you stay alive. Kang can also do martial arts and aim for certain places of the body for special points.

True Crime is shaping up to be a hell of a game for Christmas. Not that its the Christmas subject, going round shooting innocent people (probably christians), but it will be a game that lerks in the bottom of your stocking and when you finally get to open it, you will rush up to your room, turn on your PS2, turn off the lights, close the door and won't be seen agian until New Year's Day. This is definatly up to the GTA level of gaming!
